Women, is my female friend right?

A female friend of mine says that the woman I am dating asked if I wanted to go see a movie, on our 2nd date, partly because she wanted me to put my arm around her. I didn't, but she asked me out to another movie, this wednesday. My female friend is insistent that she's trying to put us in a situation where I can make the move and not just see a movie. Is my friend right about this?
