Does someone really know football rules, how can they award the Jamaican the goal?

Ok I am watching Jamaica vs Honduras live right now; and the Jamaican attacker took a shot the ball traveled and hit the bar as it was bouncing outside it hit the goal keeper in the back and went in.; what is suprising is that they are awarding the Goal to the Jamaican attacker not an own goal. Did they make wrong decision? what are the rules?
