What are a type/brand/style of ugly/unappealing shoes that for some reason never seem to go out of style?

A shoe that can be worn with socks. Not sandals, not crocs, not uggs, not flip-flops, or some quick obscure fad that the average person wouldn't recognize. So please make it something most people would know what you are referring to (It's not a trick question, or a riddle. This is an honest question for a genuine question.) If you can't think of really ugly one's, then go with shoes that can be worn with socks that everyone knows.
