Have you ever been accused of doting more on your pet than your mate?

I don't have a mate but I have a pet cockatiel that gets royal treatment.She (the bird) is not bossy but she does get assertively insistent about her basic needs (which I joyfully supply). I just love this bird. If I ever got back in the dating world would my significant other feel like she's competing w/ the bird?
