A misconception about Risk the board game: How many armies?
You are correct. 6 is the maximum. It is unusual to find a boardgame with more than 8, unless you play in teams like Cranium or something like picitonary. Your husband may be referring to some sort of game or computer game where someone selects an "army" to use in the game, such as the English, French, German, Italians, Chinese, Japanese etc. Risk and its variants has always had 6 different colors. I own a copy from the 60s with wooden pieces, one from the 70's with plastic pieces, and one from the 80's with shapes of soldiers, calvary and cannons. There has always been 6 colors, not 16.
